The all-new 2024 Toyota Prius/Prius Prime has gained widespread praise and recognition in the auto industry since its release. The Toyota Prius and Pius Prime which played a big part in contributing to the hybrid revolution many years ago, has been awarded the 2024 North American Car of the Year Award. The winners of the 2024 North American Car, Truck, and Utility Vehicle of the Year (NACTOY) awards were announced at a press conference held at M1 Concourse in Pontiac. During this event which as co-hosted by the Detroit Auto Dealers Association and Automotive Press Association, a panel of independent automotive journalists from the US and Canada voted for the winners of each category.

After receiving this award in 2024, this now marks the second time that the Toyota Prius has earned a North American Car Award. The efficient sedan also won the award a few years back in 2004 when it was named NACTOY Car of the Year. Throughout the judging process during both occasions, the Toyota Prius gained the admiration and respect among many car enthusiasts and journalist for its superior efficiency, abundant features, and simple yet stylish design.
