Interior

Once you step inside the 2024 Grand Highlander you’ll be greeted to a spacious interior with plenty of seating for up to 8 people. Its available second row captain chairs maximize your comfort thanks to its heat and ventilation options. One of its best features would have to be its easy third row access thanks to the entry handle and palm rest. The 2024 Honda Pilot can also seat up to 8 with second row captains chairs, but only on the Elite trim level. In terms of overall cargo space the Pilot also falls short of the Grand Highlander at 87/48.5 cu. ft compared to 97.5/57.9 cu. ft on the 2024 Toyota Grand Highlander.

Performance

Both vehicles provide great performance thanks to the turbocharged 4 cylinder engine outputting 265 horsepower and 310 pound feet of torque. The Highlander also offers a hybrid option that gives a large boost to mpg from 28mpg to 36mpg. The Honda Pilot unfortunate has no hybrid option and seems to look that way for the foreseeable future. The Pilot does however offer a V6 engine with 285 horsepower giving it a slight edge over the Grand Highlander. These two SUVs both are able to tow up to 5,000 which should be enough for most drivers.

Overall the 2024 Toyota Highlander has the edge over the 2024 Honda Pilot because its standard AWD, advanced technology options, and larger cargo space for passenger and storage.
